About us

Dyson is a global technology enterprise. We solve the problems others choose to ignore, with surprising new inventions that defy convention and simply work better. We’re growing fast and our ambition is huge – more categories, more locations and more people.

We push the boundaries of what others have defined as possible. Our approach starts with an engineering mindset and different thinking. Then we continuously refine our ideas – unwilling to compromise and driven by an obsession for finding a better way.

About the role

  • You’ll be asked to push the boundaries of our product experiences but will do so with a relentless focus on user experience. Our aim is to create intuitive experiences that empower our customers to unlock the full potential of their machines and Dyson technology.

  • It’s essential for you to ensure that every interaction with our products is seamless, efficient, and ultimately enhances the lives of our users. We're looking for someone who thrives on innovation, understands the intricacies of user-centric design, and is passionate about delivering exceptional experiences that exceed expectations.

  • You will be expected to support and bring to market the physical product experience vision developed by our NPI teams alongside the local engineering and design teams in both Singapore and Malaysia. As our technologies matures through the product creation process you will be asked to evolve and adapt our product visions and review with senior stakeholders within the business.

  • There will be an expectation to adapt, support further exploration and clearly communicate our vision with our downstream engineering teams – these teams will help you in the development and handling of changes throughout the process.

  • You will be someone who possesses a deep understanding of engineering, particularly in product development, encompassing both electronics and software development.

About you

  • Be curious, empathetic, and proactive to deliver innovative product experiences through the latest technologies and be excited to immerse yourself into new topics/projects outside of what you see in our stores today.

  • Able to communicate effectively with engineers, understand technical limitations, development constraints and knowing where to push vs where to adapt solutions to be more pragmatic.

  • Hardware/software electronics experience (would like to have) – Rapid electronics prototyping (Arduino, Raspberry Pi…).

  • Design, Human Factors, HCI/HRI, Interaction Design or other field emphasising product interaction, or related work experience in UX design-related role.

  • Have experience in a creative, pitch and storytelling team. Your role would be to confidently present your work with clarity to stakeholders at all levels, underpinned by sound strategic rationale to support your creative proposition.

  • Will be comfortable working in fast-paced/ cross-functional environment with the ability to prioritise accordingly, adapt to ever-evolving project needs, communicate clearly, and share responsibilities within the design process.

  • Proficient with interface design tools such as Figma, Sketch and rapid prototyping software

  • It will be a fluid type role where you may work outside of your key skillset and support a wider design led discussion and workflow.

  • You will need to show an experience with an end-to-end design process, so from creation through to delivery.

  • You need to be detailed-oriented, as your role would require you to ensure that all possible user needs, pain points are discovered and designed for.

  • Able to work closely with designers and engineers from different teams to ensure a holistically good experience for our products. Interested in delivering design to development teams in effective and efficient manner.
