The Dyson story

James Dyson’s story is that of a true pioneer. Like many inventors, he started with an idea that he just had to see through to fruition: and like all great ideas it was destined to meet with scepticism and resistance.

But James wasn’t one to be thwarted: far from it. It took five long years with no income and 5,127 prototypes before the very first Dyson vacuum cleaner came to market. Yet in spite of the knocks, James kept on going long after many of us would have simply given up.

It’s the kind of determination that sets many inventors apart from the rest of us: and it’s also what makes the Dyson story a fascinating read.
